By Divya Bhati: Instagram Reels is a popular feature on the Meta-owned platform that allows users to create, watch, and share short videos. These videos can be entertaining, engaging, and informative, depending on the creator of the Reels. Instagram also allows users to share these Reels with friends or family, or save them in Instagram’s bookmark folder. However, there is no direct way to download these short videos.
While many users do refer to third-party apps to download Instagram Reels to their phone’s gallery, these apps cannot be trusted and may even compromise the device’s safety. So, how can you download Instagram Reels safely? Well, there are a few tricks to download Reels directly from the app without using any third-party platform.
Here are a few ways through which you can download Instagram Reels on your Android mobile phone and iPhone:
How to download Instagram stories
- Open Instagram and go to the Reels that you want to save.
- Look for the ‘share’ icon located on the left side of the screen and tap on it.
- The share menu will open.
- Scroll to the bottom of the menu and select the option that says ‘Add to story.’
- Adjust the Reels to fit the layout of your story.
- After adjustments , locate the ‘three-dot’ button at the top right corner of the screen and tap on it.
- Look for the ‘Save’ option and select it.
- The Reels will now be saved on your phone’s storage with the sound.
- To access the saved Reels, open your device’s photo or gallery app.
If you don’t want to save the Instgram Reels and just want to bookmark it so you can quickly refer to it any time you want, you can save the Reels in your Instagram Bookmark option.
To save Instagram Reels:
- Open Instagram.
- Find and open the Reels video that you want to save.
- Look for the ‘three-dot’ icon located either at the bottom-right or top-right corner of the screen.
- Tap on the ‘three-dot’ icon, and a menu will appear.
- From the menu options, select ‘Save’.
- Now to access your saved Reels, go back to your Instagram profile page by tapping on the profile icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Locate the ‘hamburger menu’ icon (three horizontal lines) at the top-right corner of the screen and tap on it.
- From the menu, select the option that says ‘Saved’.
- Look for the saved Reels videos on this page and tap on them to watch.
Please note that you need an active internet connection and the Instagram app installed on your device to watch the saved Reels videos.
