Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns odds, picks and predictions

The Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3) and Cleveland Browns (6-3) meet for a Week 11 matchup at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Steelers vs. Browns odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Steelers ride a 2-game win and cover streak into Cleveland, and are a healthy 4-1 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) in the past 5 games. The Under is 6-1 in the past 7 outings, although the Over (38.5) cashed in a 23-19 home win over the Green Bay Packers last Sunday.

The Browns received terrible news this week when starting QB Deshaun Watson was ruled out for the season with a broken bone in his shoulder. Rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson will make his 2nd career start.

Cleveland is also on a 2-game win streak following a 33-31 victory at the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday. It was the 3rd game in a row the Browns covered — they were 6-point dogs vs. the Ravens.

Pittsburgh has won 4 of the past 5 head-to-head meetings, while also cashing 4 times ATS. The Steelers are 7-2 ATS in the past 9 in the series, while the Over is a perfect 3-0 in the past 3. Pittsburgh has a commanding 45-10-1 record in the past 56 meetings in this series since Jan. 2, 1994.

Steelers at Browns picks and predictions

Prediction

Steelers 19, Browns 12

Moneyline

The STEELERS (+120) are the play.

Even if Watson were healthy, it likely would still be wise to go with the visitors. Pittsburgh has dominated this series for the better part of 2 decades, and it topped Cleveland earlier this season by a 26-22 score on Monday Night Football in the Steel City. To make matters worse, not only did the Browns lose that game, it lost Pro Bowl RB Nick Chubb (knee) to a season-ending injury, too.

The Browns have done a great job shaking off injuries and going with the next man up, but overcoming injuries, and the mastery of the Steelers, will be too much on Sunday.

Against the spread

The Steelers +2.5 (-110) are catching points in this game, which seems crazy considering the Browns QB situation and the Steelers’ dominance in this series.

As mentioned, Pittsburgh is 7-2 ATS mark in the past 9 meetings vs. Cleveland, including the cover as a short dog in Week 2.

However, PASS and just play the Steelers straight up, unless you strongly feel the Browns -2.5 (-110) are going to win, but by only 1 or 2 points.

Over/Under

UNDER 32.5 (-102) is the play, but go with a HALF-UNIT wager at most.

Thompson-Robinson did absolutely nothing in his 1st start against the Ravens back in Week 4. To be fair, though, he wasn’t given the proper time to get prepared, being thrust into the starting lineup as a last-minute replacement.

The Browns will lean upon their defense heavily to try and get a positive result, and we’re going to have some old-school 1970’s football on the shores of Lake Erie Sunday.

Plus, the forecast calls for a very stiff wind blowing at 12-15 MPH, with gusts to 20 MPH at times, limiting the pass and kick games for both sides.
