Peter White Public Library hosts community discussion on Artificial Intelligence

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – Peter White Public Library (PWPL) hosted a discussion focused on Artificial Intelligence on Tuesday.

During the library’s Community Conversations: Media Smart, Michael Sauer from Northern Michigan University’s Cyber Security Department spoke about how long AI has been around, how you can recognize it and how you can stay safe online.

Andrea Marsh, Peter White Public Library communications coordinator said with it being an election year, it’s even more important that people know what they’re reading and that it’s the truth.

“With the popularity of AI, it’s becoming more and more difficult to find the facts versus the fiction,” said Marsh. “We just want to prepare everybody, we want to give them the tools, we want them to be successful in making great decisions all year long and beyond.”

The Media Smart event continues with a film showing at 6:30 p.m. in the PWPL Community Room on Wednesday.
