Patriot Ledger/Enterprise’s Boys Lacrosse Preseason Player of the Year

There was an impressive showing of support for the 26 nominees in our boys lacrosse Preseason Player of the Year poll recently, and the final results are in.

Archbishop Williams’ Henri Barriere collected 22,665 votes to receive the honor. His total accounted for 38.5 percent of the 59,209 votes cast overall.

The sophomore attack from Plymouth was expected to be a big part of the Bishops’ offense this spring, and he’s delivered on that promise with 37 goals and 19 assists through Archies’ first 12 games (6-6 record). So far he’s had a 7-goal game and a 6-goal game and has been involved in about half of the Bishops’ 113 total goals.

Southeastern junior midfielder Peyton Volz (20,867 votes) came in second in the poll, and senior midfielder Sam Wien of Duxbury finished third (3,7010 votes).

Thomas Cronan of Hanover (3,122 votes) and Scott MacKinnon of Marshfield (2,762 votes) rounded out the top five.
