Lafayette drone service FlyGuys moves into downtown office | Business

FlyGuys, a reality data-capturing technology company, has moved into the former CGI space in downtown Lafayette.

The Lafayette-based tech company announced the move Tuesday morning to the 13,000-square-foot previously empty space at 221 Jefferson St. It was previously housed in an office along Clinton Street while also occupying space in the Opportunity Machine.

Now at nearly 70 employees, FlyGuys provides quality data nationwide and connects customers who need data to drone pilots who provide the services.

The move is a significant milestone to continue its innovation. The company is now developing an app to connect pilots with customers to make the process more efficient.

FlyGuys has recently added local staff to work in sales, marketing and operations and landed a Series A funding round for $10 million for future developments.

“Our move is a pivotal step for FlyGuys as we position ourselves for scalable growth,” CEO Joe Stough said. “The space provides the room to expand our operations and develop new software. We are also excited to embrace the vibrant culture and walkability of downtown Lafayette and to be a part of the inspiring community.”
