Ceo: CEO holds meeting to review security setup and use of tech tools | Chandigarh News


Chandigarh: The chief electoral officer (CEO) of Chandigarh held a comprehensive meeting to review the poll preparedness for the upcoming general election, at the New Secretariat Building, Sector-9, here on Friday.The meeting was attended by the senior officials of the UT administration, assistant returning officers, and nodal officers. During the meeting, the CEO emphasised the commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient election process. The discussions focused on key areas, including voter registration, deployment of election staff, security arrangements, and the implementation of technological tools to enhance the voting experience and accuracy.Special attention was given to the accessibility of polling stations, the integrity of the voter list, and the training of polling personnel. Security measures were also reviewed .Meanwhile, the second inspection and reconciliation meeting with contesting candidates was also held on Friday. All the 19 contesting candidates presented their election expenditure booklets, along with relevant documents and vouchers, adhering to the stipulated guidelines of the Election Commission of India. The record maintained by these candidates was reconciled with the shadow registers maintained by the expenditure accounting teams. The third inspection is scheduled for May 29. tnn
