Youth injured in two-vehicle crash

A juvenile driver was injured in a two-vehicle collision Dec. 30 in Hubbard County.

According to a press release from the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported at 3:52 p.m. on Beltrami Line Road in Helga Township.

Responding deputies found two vehicles off the roadway with extensive damage. Investigation showed that a 2017 Dodge truck driven by Verne Smith, 72, of Bemidji was traveling east on Beltrami Line Road when it encountered a 2012 Honda Accord, northbound on 279th Ave.

The Honda, driven by a juvenile female, failed to yield to the Dodge at the intersection. The Dodge struck the Honda on the driver’s side, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.
