Workato introduces new AI Capabilities for Enterprise Automation

New AI Genies, Developer Sandbox and Action Board expand the Workato ONE platform, giving businesses the orchestration, control, and ROI they need to confidently scale AI

London, Wednesday 3rd September 2025 – Workato, the leader in agentic orchestration, has announced a major expansion of its Workato ONE platform, designed specifically to support enterprises to have more visibility, control, and orchestration to scale AI with confidence.

Research from MIT recently reported that 95% of AI projects are failing, often because businesses underestimate the complexity of implementation or focus too much on short-term adoption. AI is not a “plug and play” fix, but requires orchestration, governance and skill to succeed long-term. As CIOs face increasing pressure to turn AI investments into measurable ROI, Workato’s expanded product suite equips organisations to truly become “agentic enterprises” and move past pilots into scalable, company-wide automation.

The update to Workato ONE delivers three key advancements:

  • Smarter agents that understand goals and domain-specific logic
  • Coordinated orchestration across teams, systems, and agent networks
  • Stronger orchestration core that powers every agent with enterprise-wide knowledge, adaptable decision-making, and governance at scale.

Alongside this, Workato also announced additional product offerings, designed to further support customers with enterprise orchestration:

  • Workato Genies are prebuilt AI agents designed to handle high-impact work within key business functions—like CPQ in Sales or onboarding in HR. Built on the Workato ONE platform and deployed through Workato GO, Genies integrate with an enterprise’s systems, operate securely, and are customisable to an organisation’s needs. Only Workato Genies deliver the full package: KPI focus, enterprise context, real-time autonomy, and governance you can trust. Workato has replaced more than 100 internal workflows with intelligent Genies, streamlining processes across every function.
  • Action Board is a new capability in Workato GO where employees can engage with AI Agents, or Genies, track their key performance indicators in real-time, view open action items, dive into the processes the AI Agents are executing, and take action. Workato Action Board makes it easy to operationalise AI agents with confidence and control. While many companies experiment with AI at the edges of their business, few have the tools to manage agents at the operational core—where real business impact is made. Workato Action Board expands on Workato GO, the company’s AI-powered super app, by giving functional teams, like IT, marketing, sales, customer service, finance, and HR, the ability to define KPIs for each Genie, engage with Genies to drill down into the results in real-time and take action.
  • Workato Developer Sandbox, a new self-service offering that gives developers free access to the Workato ONE platform and its full suite of capabilities. Built for the new generation of citizen AI developers, the Developer Sandbox is Workato’s way of giving back to the developer community, enabling the next wave of developers to build and launch their own AI agents, without waiting for traditional enterprise onboarding. The Developer Sandbox is designed for developers exploring or launching AI-native and AI agent-powered applications—whether for side projects, startups, or enterprise experimentation.

“With Sandbox, everything we’ve built over the past decade—trusted by thousands of the world’s most sophisticated companies—is now available to developers for free,” said Adam Seligman, Chief Technology Officer at Workato.

With over 12,000 global customers including Poundland, Vodafone and Logitech, Workato has been named a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for iPaaS for seventh consecutive year, and  is consistently recognised in the Forbes Cloud 100 and the Deloitte Fast 500. Workato was recently named a finalist in the 2025 Cloud Computing Excellence awards in the UK, underscoring its leadership in enterprise automation. Its flagship World of Workato (WOW) roadshow, continues to grow, now spanning nine locations across the world, including London stop on 2nd October 2025.

“The influx of generative AI tools has led many companies to prioritise visibility over viability, but in the race to adopt, organisations have overlooked some critical foundational steps that, ultimately, slow and derail projects entirely,” said Mike Kiersey, Vice President of Solution Consulting at Workato. “By introducing agentic intelligence like Genies, enterprises can finally deploy AI that works like a true coworker – operating at scale across the business and delivering measurable impact, and giving teams the visibility and control to manage AI agents as they would employees, not experiments.”
