What to do, what to do…how about some free video games? Steam, GOG, Windows and more!

The growing number of people on lockdown or heading toward it puts a huge responsibility on the entertainment industry that revolves around video games and streaming media (as well as internet providers that make it all possible). With so many people unable to leave their home to find entertainment elsewhere, these companies are stepping up to make the experience much easier by offering new perks like free services, upgrade and more–and some of them, are offering free video games!

So we are going to dive right into a list of these and will try to update this as we find more. The following companies are offering free games that you can download and enjoy right now.

STEAM

Steam is offering a unique title up for grabs called “Goat of Duty”. Look familiar? Most likely because it will remind you of a lot of a certain goat simulator that has been available for some time. Only this time, these goats mean war! So get your corny laughs ready and dive into Goat of Duty, a wonderful spoof game.

It doesn’t stop there though as Steam has plenty of free-to-play games to offer that won’t run you anything to install. So search around for them using the search filters and see what meets your interests. Some of these free-to-play games that are normally free to play on Steam include the following popular titles:

You can also find a bunch of demos for new games coming out soon, free for download as part of their Steam Game Spring Festival (ends 03/23/2020)

GOG Galaxy

These guys have built a long list of games for you to get your hands on. Given, they are all classics or modern games inspired by classics, so you better get ready to get your 8 to 16-bit (or close) on! One of these is the infamous (original) Shadow Warrior Classic game.

Microsoft Windows

Of course, Microsoft isn’t going to miss out when it comes to providing freebies to the people. There is a list of free games available (and building) in the Microsoft Store. Here are just a few of those games. That being said, not all of these look like the most entertaining. So if you want better, make sure you subscribe to Xbox Live Gold so you can have access to all of the monthly games that come from that, which are typically way better.

Epic Games

Epic Games has been offering free games to users who have downloaded and use their gaming portal (similar to Steam and GOG). The windows come and go when it comes to downloading them for free, so you have to be on top of them. Here are some of the games they currently have to offer:
