Switching to cable tv alternatives makes a lot of sense if you are looking to save money. However, you may just want to put the TV on instead of looking for something to stream. Food Network is great for those that want something on in the background when preparing lunches or cooking dinner.

To watch Food Network on your TV without cable, all you need is a streaming device like a Roku, Amazon Fire TV, or Smart TV, and A live TV streaming service that carries Food Network.

Before we go into detail on watching Food Network online, I wanted to cover our favorite streaming services that carry Food Network briefly.

Where to Watch Food Network

Philo – Carries Food Network and over 50 other channels for just $20 a month. They even include a cloud DVR to record shows you miss. The value of this service makes it our top pick for watching Food Network without cable. They offer a no-risk 7-day free trial.

Hulu Live TV – Offers HGTV, local channels, and a ton of other features. Check here for more information.

Sling TV – Live Food Network is a part of both their “Blue” and “Orange” package. You can try it free for 7-days.

FuboTV – They provide Food Network as well as over 80 other channels. They also offer a 1-week free trial.

YouTube TV – Last but not least, you can watch HGTV on YouTube TV

More on Streaming Services with Food Network

Looking for more information on the live streaming services that carry Food Network. We go into more detail below.

Food Network on Philo

The most affordable way to watch Food Network without cable is by subscribing to the streaming service Philo. For just $20 a month, you get over 50 channels, including Food Network, as well as the ability to record as many shows as you like and watch them for 30 days.

You don’t even need to provide a credit card number for the seven-day free trial – all you need is your mobile phone number. That said, Philo does not offer sports or the Disney channel, so if those options are a priority for you, you may want to look elsewhere. See our review of Philo for details.

Watch Food Network on Hulu

Hulu is another way you can stream Food Network. Previously Hulu was known for its vast on-demand streaming library. However, they have added a Hulu Live TV service for $54.99 a month that lets you watch Food Network live. Hulu Live TV is one of the best live TV streaming services available. It includes the following features:

  • The basic package comes with 50 hours of cloud DVR storage. (Upgrades available)
  • Watch on 2 screens at once. (Upgrades available)
  • Comes with 6 customizable profiles
  • Includes entire Hulu streaming library

Many of Food Network shows are available on-demand with Hulu’s streaming library as well, including “Chopped,” “Cutthroat Kitchen,” “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives,” “Iron Chef America,” and “Cupcake Wars.”

Hulu runs on Roku, Fire TV Devices, Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, iOS, Android, and more. Check out our full review of Hulu Live TV for more details.

Food Network on FuboTV

FuboTV is an excellent place to go for sports, but it offers many other more general channels as well, including Food Network. Food Network is provided, along with 70+ other channels, on its basic package for $54.99/month. The FuboTV app is available on major platforms, including AppleTV, AndroidTV, Roku, and Amazon FireTV. You can sign up for a 1-week free trial or check out our review of FuboTV for more details.

Food Network on Sling TV

Sling TV subscription

One more price-conscious alternative is Sling TV. Food Network is in its “orange” package, which is $25 a month. Sling TV provides a live stream of Food Network, so you can watch what would be airing on Food Network just as if you had cable.

Sling TV is available on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, and more, so it’s not a problem to enjoy Food Network on a TV, tablet, computer, or other smart devices.  There are more channels available on Sling TV than what I’ve mentioned here. To find out more about what Sling TV has to offer, and more information about Sling TV device compatibility, check out this detailed review of Sling TV.

Food Network on YouTubeTV

YouTubeTV also offers live Food Network, as well as limitless storage space for recording your shows. Your library of recorded shows can be streamed anywhere. In addition to the Food Network, and numerous other channels, YouTube TV includes a Personal Cloud DVR and YouTube Red original series. All this costs subscribers just $49.99 a month for six accounts.

YouTube TV is available on Roku, Android, iOS (includes AirPlay to Apple TV), and Chromecasts/Chromecast-compatible TVs. See our YouTube TV review for more details.

Food Network App – Live and On-Demand

With the streaming services we’ve covered, you will have access to some Food Network on-demand programming through the streaming service app. The Food Network App allows you to watch the current season and past seasons of most Food Network shows. The Food Network App also has older Food Network Shows no longer airing on the network.

The Food Network app works on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, some Samsung Smart TV’s, Android, and iOS. A few episodes of some shows are available for free, but you can unlock all the content on the app with your login credentials from Philo, FuboTV, Hulu Live TV, or YouTube TV

Additionally, you can use the app to watch Food Network shows if you have the login credentials to a paid cable or satellite TV subscription.

Food Network on Amazon Prime

The popular Food Network shows are not available to stream on an Amazon Prime membership, but they are available to purchase.

If you are merely interested in a few Food Network shows, you can purchase the full run of the current season online from Amazon, Itunes, or another service.  This may be a cheaper option than subscribing to a streaming service to deliver all Food Network has to offer.

To buy the latest season of a Food Network show on Amazon, a season pass costs between $15.99-$22.99, which is less than many monthly services and makes sense if it’s the only show that you want to watch. You can also buy each episode at around $2.99 each. That said, there you may be interested in shows on other networks. In that case, you may be better off going with Philo.

It ultimately depends on how many shows you are going to follow in a year. Almost every popular show is available online, and once you purchase it, you own it.  That means you can watch it whenever you want.
