Toy Tuesday: Protect the Payload With These Overwatch Toys

Blizzard’s Overwatch seemingly sprung out of the gate ready to be exploited across multiple mediums. The team-based shooter’s wildly diverse cast is super toyetic, boasting unique silhouettes, cool weapons and big personalities. It’s not surprising that soon after the game was released companies started signing up to make all sorts of toys. Here’s a rundown of eleven of our favorites, from cuddly plushies to replica swords and everything in between.

Mercy Figma Figure

Mercy Figma Figure

Winged healer Mercy has had a difficult path through Overwatch‘s multiple patches and balancing passes, as her loadout has changed more than almost any other character. We believe that Blizzard will get it right one day, but until then we’ll just play with her very cool action figure from the sculpting geniuses at Good Smile instead. Standing a little over six inches tall with a sizable wingspan, Mercy comes with a pair of interchangeable faceplates and her Caduceus Staff and Caduceus Blaster weapons. A stand is included for all those sweet flying poses.

LEGO D.Va and Reinhardt Kit

LEGO D.Va and Reinhardt Kit

The brickmasters at LEGO are getting smarter and smarter about snapping up licenses, and they jumped on Overwatch pretty soon after it was obvious that the game was a cultural phenomenon. So far the sets have been pretty small-scale, but they’re super cool. This one pairs tanks Reinhardt and D.Va, two mechanical marauders who love to soak up damage and protect their teammates. At 455 pieces, it’s a decent length build with some very interesting custom components including Reinhardt’s Rocket Hammer.

Roadhog Plush

Roadhog Plush

The portly, tattooed Roadhog was one of the breakout stars of Overwatch‘s initial cast, capable of reaching out across the stage with his hook to haul enemies in close and perforate them with a stream of shrapnel. Although he can look menacing, he’s actually a real sweetie at heart, and would approve of you buying this plush incarnation to snuggle at night. The little stuffed Hog stands six inches tall and is relatively firm, not too squishy.

Genji Sword Replica

Genji Sword Replica

While we’re not the kind of people who would tell you to buy a decorative katana, this thing is kind of a must for any Overwatch fan. Genji is one of the more generic heroes in the game’s wildly diverse cast, but that doesn’t mean he’s not cool. The masked heir to a ninja clan was nearly killed by his brother Hanzo and then rebuilt as a wall-climbing cyborg with a deadly sword. That very sword is presented here with motion activated light up features, sound and voice samples.

Soldier 76 Nendoroid

Soldier 76 Nendoroid

Good Smile’s Nendoroid line are super charming big-headed renditions of characters from all across games, anime, comics and more. Unlike their closest competitor Funko Pops, these are way more poseable and come with a bunch of accessories and goodies. Soldier 76 is the grizzled daddy figure of Overwatch, and seeing him in this cutesy form is a little weird, but the overall product is super cool. He comes with a removable mask, effects parts for muzzle flash and biotic field, and even Helix rockets with their own stands.

Tracer Statue

Tracer Statue

Overwatch‘s de facto mascot at launch was the sprightly dual wielder who can tweak the flow of time to cause all sorts of mischief. Held in the timestream by a device created by Winston, she uses her condition to blink around the battlefield and rewind in tricky situations to a previous state. Show off her goods with this high-quality statue from Blizzard, sculpted by Brian Fay and painted by Laurel Austin. Cool transparent material is used for her goggles and energy effects, making this one a real eye-catcher.

Funko Pop Wrecking Ball

Funko Pop Wrecking Ball

One of the quirkiest additions to the Overwatch cast, Wrecking Ball is a hyper-intelligent hamster who pilots a four-legged mech that can grapple onto level geometry and swing around, turning him into a living flail of cute destruction. This six-inch Funko Pop is one of the most detailed we’ve ever seen, aptly translating the design of the mech suit into that classic super-cute Funko style. The little guy’s even peeking out of the top to survey the carnage he’s created.

Widowmaker Figma Figure

Widowmaker Figma Figure

The blue-skinned sniper Widowmaker can be a giant pain in the ass if you don’t see her coming, as she can charge her shots for massive damage and one-hit kill you. Throw in an infrared sight to see through walls and tag targets and you’ve got a force for picking teams apart. Good Smile knocks it out of the park with this figure, featuring smooth but poseable joints covered in a unique plastic material for no seaming. Throw in a pair of faceplates and a super-accurate version of her Widow’s Kiss rifle and this one will get noticed wherever it posts up.

Nerf Reaper Collector’s Pack

Nerf Reaper Collector's Pack

The marriage of Nerf guns and Overwatch is a match made in heaven — you can polish your skills for the game by giving your officemates a little of the ol’ foam dart pew pew. They make a ton of different guns, but this set gives you a pair of Wight Edition Reaper blasters, 16 rounds to fill their magazines and a Reaper facemask with adjustable strap so you can really get into it. Yes, we know that he’s the edgelord character of choice but he’s still pretty cool. Please note that this toy does not give you the ability to shift into wraith form to avoid damage.

Cute But Deadly Winston Figure

Cute But Deadly Winston Figure

The great ape of the game, Winston was born on the Horizon Lunar Colony, a genetically modified gorilla with tremendous intelligence and compassion. When the other apes revolted, he built a makeshift escape pod and headed to Earth. Once there, he joined the Overwatch organization and used his intelligence, agility and fighting spirit for the good of all life. This charming vinyl figure from Blizzard stands three and a half inches high and has a lot of detail for the size.

Overwatch Loot Box Cookie Jar

Overwatch Loot Box Cookie Jar

For all the furor about microtransactions and loot boxes, Overwatch seems to have missed the bad vibes. That’s probably because the game is pretty generous with its cosmetic rewards. If you haven’t opened enough of them on your computer screen, why not get one more for your kitchen? This high-quality ceramic cookie jar is modeled after the game’s reward boxes, measures ten inches to a side and will hold a few servings of your favorite sweet treats.
