They stole mobile phones to buy gifts for girlfriends | Indore News


Ujjain: Ujjain police on Saturday busted a gang of five young mobile snatchers who started committing the crime to purchase expensive gifts for their girlfriends.
The accused accepted committing eleven snatchings. Police told TOI that one of the accused had an affair with his classmate and wanted to gift her a smartphone. Following which, he formed a gang with four other friends. The accused accepted snatching a mangalsutra from a woman on the road.
SP Sachin Atulkar said that Chimanganj Mandi police have registered a case against Aman Pathan, 18, a resident of Dhancha Bhawan, Rajneesh Bharti, 18, of Saraswati Nagar, Lokesh Girje, 18 and two others. Mobile phones worth Rs 2 lakh were seized.
In another incident, Ujjain police also arrested four accused for selling sharp-edged weapons and seized 15 knives from their possession on Saturday.
Nanakheda police had received a tip-off about the whereabouts of the accused, following which accused Kamlesh Balai, Sahil Sheikh, Shoeb Khan and Sunil Vishwakarma were arrested.
