The 2019 version of the Suzuki Hayabusa has just been launched at a price of Rs 13.74 lakh. The bike features a few cosmetic changes while the motor has been left untouched.
The bike will be offered in two colour schemes, Metallic Oort Gray and Glass Sparkle Black and features additional side reflectors. Graphics have also been updated for 2019.
In terms of mechanicals, the superbike will continue with the 1,340cc inline-four engine that makes 199.7 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque and mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
After two decades in the running, Suzuki has stopped production of the Hayabusa in Europe with sales coming to an end on December, 31. The Suzuki Hayabusa was the first production bike to cross the 300 km/h mark and became an iconic bike as soon as it launched in 1999. The current gen bike gets a limited top speed of just 299 km/h however and goes from 0-100 km/h in 2.74 seconds.
Commenting on the launch, Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, SMIPL said, “For 20 years, Suzuki Hayabusa has been one of the most loved sportsbike among the enthusiasts for almost two decades and has received an excellent response in India. It is our constant endeavour to offer great products, and we are pleased to launch the 2019 edition of Hayabusa in two new colour schemes appealing to a larger fan base and enthusiasts in India.”
The 2019 Suzuki Hayabusa is on sale in India, but expect an all-new bike by 2022 that meets with the new emission regulations. Deliveries are scheduled to begin shortly.
