Square Enix’s Last Idea Smartphone Game’s New Video Previews Animation, Character Customization – News

Treasure-hunting RPG slated to launch this spring

Square Enix began streaming a second teaser video on Friday for its Last Idea smartphone treasure-hunting role-playing game. The narration at the beginning of the below video says, “I will never forget that you saved me on that day at that place.”

The video previews gameplay for the first time, including a character customization tool. The video also previews part of Shota Kageyama‘s main theme for the game, and animated event scenes.

Service is slated to launch for iOS and Android this spring. The game follows a novice treasure hunter, the protagonist, and a mysterious amnesiac girl named Lucrecia. In the beginning, the protagonist goes to an abandoned castle on an island to follow a lead given to them by a fortune teller friend. Upon their arrival, an earthquake hits and darkness comes out from the ground and shrouds the sky. Monsters lay siege to the castle, and there’s a girl on the balcony who looks like she is about to be attacked.

The game will feature a hack-and-slash battle system using the “smart command” interface, which has patents pending.

Studio A-Cat is producing animation for the game. The main character designer is Gaō, and Shota Kageyama is composing the music. The voice cast includes Manaka Iwami, Aya Suzaki, Kento Fujinuma, Ai Kakuma, and Minami Takahashi. Players will be able to choose the voice for their protagonist character from the following voice actors and voice actresses: Keiji Fujiwara, Minami Takayama, Yuko Minaguchi, Hikaru Midorikawa, Rie Kugimiya, Jun Fukuyama, Yumi Sudou, Sakura Nakamura, Mitsuki Nakae, Satoru Murakami, and Tasuku Kida.
