The Riverside County-run hospital in Moreno Valley is offering a new treatment to help coronavirus patients avoid serious complications from the virus.
The Riverside University Health System Medical Center’s Monoclonal Antibody Treatment Center opened Monday, Sept. 13. A joint venture of the hospital and the state Emergency Medical Services Authority, the center in the hospital’s lower level will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday by appointment.
“By administering monoclonal antibodies, we are aiming to take a preventative stance to keep infected patients from having to be hospitalized or admitted to the ICU,” Dr. Geoffrey Leung, the county’s public health officer, said in a news release.
Patients must meet certain criteria to receive antibody treatment. The hospital is at 26520 Cactus Ave., Moreno Valley Patients should enter from Nason Street.
