A RETRO Ford Capri similar to Del Boy’s ‘Pratmobile’ in Only Fools & Horses is selling for a whopping £60,000 at auction.
The vintage motor is just one of 50 models thought to be left in the UK.
The bright green RS3100 Capri is expected to get plenty of interest when it goes under the hammer on October 5 in Leamington Spa.
It was build in 1974 by the American automaker as a road-legal version of its entry into the European Touring Car series held that year.
But the old-school motor earned a following when it was driven by Derek Trotter in popular sitcom Only Fools and Horses.
Unlike Del Boy’s clapped-out model, the motor is in mint condition with a pristine paint job, spotless black leather interior and a 3.1-litre Cosworth V6 engine.
And it has only covered 48,000 miles in its 45 years on the road, staying with the previous owner for four years.
If the model is able to meet its pre-sale estimate, it will become the most Capri to be bought at auction.
The current record for any Ford Capri sold in the UK is believed to be £54,000, which was set in 2016.
Gary Dunne, auction manager at Classic Car Auction, said: “It is a superb car which is very well represented and of high quality.”
A spokesman for Classic Car Auctions said: “This is undoubtedly the holy grail. of the entire Capri generation.
“It is a ‘show-quality. Capri and a certain ‘Concours’ winner.
“The car is probably only one of 50 left in the UK and you will struggle to find a better example.”
