Rain possible starting today – Chico Enterprise-Record

Weather forecasters say starting tomorrow, the north state has a chance to get some much-needed rain and some snow this week.

In fact, Chico and Pleasant Valley athletes playing in the Almond Bowl might be dealing with some rain on Friday night.

According to the National Weather Service, the potential for rain will start today with minor rainfall expected in the valley and the foothills today and Monday.

However, there is a chance for moderate snow and wind in the mountain areas starting today.

According to forecasters, light mountain snow showers are expected tonight with 2 to 5 inches of snow.

Forecasters say light showers in the valley may lead to slick roads. Forecasters believe the best chances for any showers will be across the northern Sacramento Valley and adjacent foothills.

Forecasts expect rain again on Wednesday and Friday night with next weekend offering a chance for more widespread rain.
