MDCC Awarded Grant By 2nd Chance for Adult Ed Programs

Adult education has become one of the main missions of late on the campus of Mississippi Delta Community College.

That mission fits right in with the goals of 2nd Chance MS, an organization dedicated to helping adults seeking their high school equivalency or workforce certification.

2nd Chance Executive Director Zach Scruggs was on hand Thursday at the Moorhead campus of MDCC to award a grant of over $18,000 toward the college’s adult education programs.

With this money, the adult education department will be able to purchase Chromebooks and Wifi hotspots to loan to adult ed students who are not able to attend classes during the pandemic.

“2nd Chance Miss. is excited about partnering with Mississippi Delta Community College to provide needed support for hard-working adult students in the Miss. Delta area. These adult students already face numerous barriers to getting their high school equivalency or workforce training,” explained Zach Scruggs, Executive Director of 2nd Chance Miss.
