Lin’s grocery store closed early on Wednesday after one man suggested on Facebook he would shoot and kill the polygamist customers in Cedar City.
Cedar City Police Department received anonymous tips that Brian Davenport had been posting threatening posts on Facebook. He was arrested on Thursday with one charge of threat of terrorism.
According to arresting documents, Davenport wanted to shoot all the polygamist shoppers, then shoot the first responding police officers, and finally to commit suicide by the time back up officers arrived. Due to the severity of the Facebook posts, the grocery store made the decision to close in order to protect customers and employees.
Davenport was detained on Thursday and brought in for questioning.
