Leagas Delaney recruits Dan Hauck as CSO

Leagas Delaney has appointed former Bartle Bogle Hegarty London head of strategy Dan Hauck as its first group chief strategy officer.

Hauck joins the agency from electrical vehicle start-up Arrival, where he was chief of marketing. In the newly created position, he will lead Leagas Delaney’s strategy team, reporting to chief executive Fergus Hay. The appointment comes as Leagas Delaney seeks to position itself to “partner with hyper-growth brands”.

Before Arrival, Hauck was head of strategy of innovation agency Redscout. Its clients included Boots, eBay and Pepsi.

Between 2012 and 2014, Hauck led strategy at BBH, when he handled clients including British Airways, Clarks and Lynx.

As part of Leagas Delaney’s repositioning, it has been working with tech venture capitalist group Lakestar over the past year, as well as strategy, branding and design work for tech companies including Engineer.ai and Openpay.

Hay said: “Dan’s brief is to ensure that Leagas Delaney continues to create ideas, rooted in business problems, that lead to real change for our clients, whatever their size or sector.”
