Laurel County man accused of stealing phones and cash

Joshua A. Grubb

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – London Police arrested a man in connection to several stolen cell phones and $250 taken from a North Laurel High School locker room.

Investigators say officers arrested 29-year-old Joshua A. Grubb on Thursday.

On Tuesday, investigators say witnesses at the school noticed a suspicious man walking around wearing a dark hoodie. They say officers searched the area, but did not find anyone matching that description.

Later that evening, police say they went to a Walmart in London where phones had been stolen.  Police say they were told about a man matching the description of the suspicious man from earlier. Police say they found five of the missing phones.

On Thursday, officers say they interviewed Grubb, who admitted to going into the locker room and taking the phones.

Police say three phones were valued at $1,000 and the other four were valued at $250. They say all phones recovered were severely damaged.

Grubb is charged with third-degree burglary along with first and third-degree criminal mischief, according to police.
