That’s why the bugs or stability issues remain almost the same with a couple of last updates.

1. Force Restart iPhone

  • First, quickly press and release the Volume Up button and then the Volume Down button.
  • Next, quickly long-press the Power/Side button for 10-15 seconds and your device will reboot forcefully.
  • You can see the Apple logo will appear on the screen. Wait for the device to boot into the system.
  • That’s it. This method won’t wipe any of your device data.

2. Update Pending Apps

  • Go to App Store on your iPhone.
  • Tap on Today category at the bottom.
  • Next, tap on the user profile icon on the upper right corner of the screen (Account Details).
  • Scroll down a bit and select the Available Updates option.
  • In order to update apps individually, tap on the Update button beside each app name.
  • If you want to update multiple apps, tap on Update All option to update at once.

3. Reset All Settings on iPhone

It’s quite obvious that some updates can override the iPhone settings forcefully without your intent. That means you may face system performance issues or battery draining issues on your iPhone. It’s highly recommended to reset all the iPhone settings in order to restore the system defaults again.

  • Go to the iPhone Settings.
  • Tap on General.
  • Scroll down to the bottom and tap on Reset.
  • Next, tap on Reset all Settings from the list.
  • Enter your passcode and continue to reset all the settings completely.

Make sure to re-enable all the features that are disabled after reset.

4. Reset iPhone Data

If the system settings reset can’t fix the battery draining issue yet, you can try resetting the iPhone data completely which will include all internal content & settings. This process will erase all the important data completely, so you should take a full backup at first.

  • Tap on the Settings menu on your iPhone.
  • Select General.
  • Scroll down to the bottom and tap on Reset.
  • Tap on Erase all content and settings from the list.
  • Enter your passcode to confirm the task.
  • Wait for it and reboot your device.

Now, you will need to set up your iPhone and log in to the Apple ID again.

5. Restore iPhone from iOS Backup

Even after performing the factory reset doesn’t fix the main problem for you, you can always restore your iPhone from the iOS backup via iTunes.

  • Connect your iPhone to a PC/Laptop via a Lightning cable.
  • Launch iTunes on your Windows or older version of Mac. You can open the Finder app if you’re using macOS Catalina.
  • After connecting the handset, quickly press and release the Volume Up button and then the Volume Down button also.
  • Next, long-press the Power/Side button until the recovery mode or Connect to iTunes appears on the screen.
  • Keep long-pressing the Power button if you see the Apple logo, it will automatically boot into recovery mode.
  • A pop-up message will appear like Connect to iTunes. Follow the on-screen instructions and select Restore option to get back all the backed up data on your PC via iTunes.
  • Disconnect the iPhone and reboot it.

Make sure that you’ve already backed up the previous version of iOS which you will restore when necessary.
