The trick that I’ve been using to get around bad AirPods battery life is using one AirPod at a time. This helps when on phone calls, where my AirPods battery life has been the worst.

Instead of putting both AirPods in when you take a call or want to listen to music, put one in and use it until it dies. Then you can switch and charge up the first AirPod while you are using the second.

It’s not a perfect solution for music, but it does help with calls and audio books. In just 15 minutes you get up to 3 hours of listening and up to 2 hours of talk time.

Turn off Hey Siri on AirPods 2

AirPods 2 already include better battery life on calls thanks to Bluetooth 5.0, but you can make it even better by turning off Hey Siri on your iPhone or iPad.

Hey Siri is always listening for you to say, “Hey Siri”, which cuts into battery life. This is only a feature on AirPods 2, and this will only help you with AirPods 2 battery life.
