‘Hello, Dolly!’ goes live July 19-Aug. 6 – Park Rapids Enterprise

The Northern Light Opera Company (NLOC) presents “Hello, Dolly!” July 29 to Aug. 6 at the Armory Arts and Events Center in Park Rapids.

Evening performances start at 7:30 p.m. July 29-30 and Aug. 3-5. Matinees, July 31 and Aug. 6, start at 3 p.m.

According to a press release, “Hello, Dolly!” is “a rollicking musical comedy” set in 1890s New York, where cunning matchmaker Dolly Levi sets out to find a match for miserly half-a-millionaire widower Horace Vandergelder. Meanwhile, shopkeepers Cornelius and Barnaby live quiet lives of desperation until they set off on an adventure to New York City, vowing that they “won’t come home until they fall in love.” “It’s an irresistible story about the love of living, full of happy songs and exuberant dance numbers,” says NLOC producers.

The NLOC production features April Hodge as Dolly, Dave Konshok as Horace, Jake Jager as Cornelius Hackl, Levi Trygstad as Barnaby Tucker, Abby Jasmer as Irene Molloy, Maeve Bolton as Minnie Fay, Alan Guajardo as Ambrose Kemper, Hannah Lewis as Ermengarde, Casey Hilden as Rudolph Reisenweber and Gail Ahart as Ernestina Money.

The production team includes stage director Lisa Dove, choreographer Karen Palmen, music director Ryan Webber, set designer and production manager Greg Paul, costume designers Anneliese Garner and Kara Johnston, lighting designer Brian Ahart, sound designer Lorri Jager and stage manager Tori Harju.
