Farmers market season kicks off this weekend with the Saranac Lake summer farmers market in Riverside Park and the Keene Valley farmers market in Marcy Field.

The Saranac Lake market, now called High Peaks Farmers Market, will happen rain or shine every Saturday in Riverside Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 8. The market accepts SNAP, EBT, Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons and Double Up Food Bucks as payment in addition to cash.

“All the vendors are working really hard and looking forward to seeing everybody,” Saranac Lake Farmers Market Manager Caitlin Bottcher said Friday.

People can expect vendors like Mace Chasm Farm, North Country Creamery, Sugarhouse Creamery, Blue Pepper Farm, Juniper Hill Farm, Fledgling Crow Vegetables, Early Dawn Confections, ADK Noodle Company, Harmony Hills Farmstead and many more at the Saranac Lake market throughout the summer.

The Saranac Lake markets will also feature live music. The 80K Players are slated to play today, and other artists like Mari Byrd, the Goddard Girls and Wayne Sailing are on the roster for this summer.

The Keene Valley farmers market will return to Marcy Field this Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market runs every Sunday through Oct. 9. The market accepts FMNP coupons.

Markets in Lake Placid, Tupper Lake and Wilmington begin in June.

The Wilmington market, at Heritage Park, starts June 1 and runs every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Aug. 31. The market accepts FMNP coupons.

The Lake Placid farmers market — which is also part of the High Peaks Farmers Market — will return to Green Goddess every Wednesday starting June 15 through Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market accepts SNAP, EBT, FMNP coupons and Double Up Food Bucks as payment in addition to cash.

The Tupper Lake farmers market, at 320 Park St., runs June 24 through Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
