Facebook Advances Trademark Suit Against Hong Kong Web Registrar

Facebook Inc. can continue its cybersquatting and trademark lawsuit against a Hong Kong-based company it accuses of registering and licensing infringing domains, a California federal court said.

Facebook adequately alleged that Xiamen 35.com Techology Co. Ltd. was the parent company of two companies accused of registering, using or trafficking at least 35 offending domains and that the court had jurisdiction, the U.S. District Court for the District of California said.

One of those alleged subsidiaries, a California-based domain registrar, has been successfully sued by several major companies for cybersquatting, Facebook alleged.
