In a recent development, European challenger bank bunq, has introduced Apple Pay for its customers in the Netherlands. For the uninitiated, Apple is a mobile payment method with an easy, secure, and private way to pay conveniently.

Unique Device Account Number is assigned

In this case, when you use a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device, nor Apple servers.
Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device.

Rewards and benefits!

Furthermore, each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code. On the other hand, Apple Pay is easy to set up, and users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by credit and debit cards.

Founder and CEO Ali Niknam, said:

We’re happy to launch Apple Pay in the Netherlands officially. Dutch users can now enable both Maestro and Mastercard cards for Apple Pay, only with bunq they get the best of both worlds. This gives them the freedom to pay with their iPhone or Apple Watch, whenever they want, wherever they go.

Touch ID or Face ID

In stores, Apple Pay works with iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and later, and Apple Watch. During online shopping, users can pay through Apple Pay directly through Touch ID or double-click the side button and authenticate with a glance with Face ID.

Apple pay supported devices!

When paying for goods and services in apps or Safari, Apple Pay works with iPhone 6 and later, iPhone SE, iPad Pro, iPad (5th Generation and later), iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3 and later.

Market place for developers!

Earlier this month, Bunq introduced a market place for developers to showcase apps built using the European challenger bank’s open API. Through this market place, developers can market themselves to bunq users all over the world. Users can access various apps right from tracking spending habits to managing through their existing online banking credentials with just a click.

Bunq!

For the uninitiated, bunq is an independent bank that offers world-class mobile banking. No branch visits, no queues, no paperwork, just immediate access from a mobile device.

Users can share bank accounts with whomever they want and pay with worldwide Maestro and Mastercards wherever they go. bunq is currently available in 8 European markets: the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, and Ireland.
