WE all know the benefits of ‘save mode’ and ‘flight mode’ on our phones, but now comes ‘drunk mode’ to keep us “safe”.
If you have ever sent a photo or message while you were drunk without thinking of the consequences and later regretted it, then you will like this idea.
The Chinese company Gree Electric has patented an app which blocks and delays the use of some options on your mobile phone. It will block apps such as WhatsApp if it considers that you may be drunk, to prevent you from sending messages that you may regret.
WhatsApp already enabled the ‘delete messages’ function, but now this app intends to take action before the offending message is sent, by preventing users from doing something they could regret.
For the restrictions to available on the phone, the user must define what type of applications will be restricted and what activity will be delayed if drunk. After activating it, a sobriety check is required to use the phone, the rules and responses to which will also have been set by the user. Once the check is completed, the phone can be used as normal according to MyDrivers News in a report about the new app.
