Cybersecurity Agency Tapped to Co-Chair FCC 5G Security Council

A Federal Communications Commission advisory council for strengthening 5G networks against security threats will be co-chaired by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency for the first time, acting commission chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel announced.

The appointment is part of the FCC’s efforts to address criticism that it has allowed the private sector to have too much influence on the Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council in the past, Rosenworcel said a statement.
