VENICE — The city of Venice is ramping up for its first virtual meeting of the Venice City Council, which is slated for 9 a.m. Tuesday but members of the public can only participate electronically.

City officials publicized the process — put in place because coronavirus-related social distancing practices suggest limiting gatherings to 10 people, as well as advising that each person be separated by six feet — Friday morning, when the agenda was released at Venicegov.com.

The meeting was postponed from its regular March 24 date, while city officials explored the best way to safely conduct a meeting.
