CHICO — Due to a potential COVID-19 exposure, Mayor Andrew Coolidge has called for a postponement of the Chico City Council meeting Tuesday.
The council will meet 6 p.m. March 2 to discuss all items on the Feb. 16 agenda, according to a news release Monday.
The public will be able to watch the March 2 meeting by streaming the Granicus video found on the city’s website. Written comments can still be made using the Engaged Chico platform on the city’s website.
The meeting will still offer the first Zoom attendance option for participating. Coolidge had mentioned in the past that making it possible to hold meetings on Zoom was one of his key concerns so that public engagement could be easier than having emailed comments silently read during meetings.
City Manager Mark Orme said, ”All credit goes to City Clerk Debbie Presson and her team for working to deploy the technology. It was through Debbie and her staff’s dedication to ensuring public engagement, per the council’s directive, that brought this to reality.”
Anyone wishing to address the council on any items may do so by accessing the Zoom meeting information at https://zoom.us/s/99927047481.
