‘Catch Me If You Can’ figure headlining tech conference

The former con-artist who inspired a popular film directed by Steven Spielberg will be the keynote speaker at a Birmingham tech conference next month.

Frank Abagnale, who later became a 40-year FBI consultant, will be the afternoon keynote speaker at the fourth annual Alabama Cyber Now Training Day and Conference, April 10 and 11.

The conference, hosted by TechBirmingham, the Central Alabama Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (CAISSA) and the InfraGard Birmingham Members Alliance, will take place at Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa.

Abagnale is an expert on forgery, embezzlement and secure documents. He was immortalized by Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2002 film, “Catch Me If You Can,” co-starring Tom Hanks. Abagnale is a spokesman for ThreatAdvice and works with several corporate clients, having conducted more than 3,000 seminars on identity theft, cyber crime, and fraud worldwide.
