A BACK to the Future super-fan has fulfilled his lifelong dream by buying his own DeLorean car.

Aircraft engineer David Fox, 41, sold unwanted possessions to raise the £20,000 needed to secure the iconic motor on eBay.

He spent £5,000 shipping it from New York to Liverpool and doing it up.

David, whose 2019 wedding to wife Maxine was themed on the 1985 blockbuster, told The Sun: “I remember my dad saying, ‘it’s not a made-up car.

“You can actually buy them’.

“From then on, I had to have one.”

DMC DeLoreans were made for the US market from 1981 to 1983, but had a poor reputation.

But David said: “Having a DeLorean is every bit as good as I thought it would be.

“To quote Doc, ‘this is the big one’.”
