Argument Over Video Games Leads to Armed Standoff With RPD

Rochester police say an early morning standoff on Karnes Street started as an argument between two men over video games.

Marcus Frasier, 25, of Rochester was eventually arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing after the standoff was resolved.

According to police, they responded to a home on Karnes Street around 3:30 a.m. on Friday after a man called 911.

Police say the victim was playing video games with Frasier when an argument began and Frasier loaded a shotgun and pointed it at the man. The victim ran from the home and called police.

Officers surrounded the home and tried to communicate with Frasier, who refused to surrender.

After several hours, the RPD SWAT unit was called in and was able to make contact with Frasier. He then exited the home and was arrested.

Police had obtained a search warrant for the home and inside they found a sawed-off shotgun that they say was used to menace the victim.

Frasier was taken to the Monroe County Jail and will be arraigned in Rochester City Court.
