Apple Releases iOS 13.5.1 for iPhone with ‘Important Security Updates’ « iOS & iPhone :: Gadget Hacks

Apple just released iOS 13.5.1, the latest update for iPhone today, Monday, June 1. The update comes 12 days after iOS 13.5, which introduced COVID-19 exposure notifications, a Group FaceTime update, and Face ID improvements when wearing a mask.

Apple, released 13.5.1 at 10 a.m. PDT, its usual release time for software updates. This update is available to any iPhone compatible with iOS 13, whether or not you updated your iPhone to iOS 13.5 last week. Interestingly, Apple decided not to beta test this update.

The initial download page for the update states “iOS 13.5.1 provides important security updates and is recommended for all users.” The company doesn’t specify what those important security updates are.

As always, the update is entirely free. To download the update, head to Settings –> General –> Software Update, then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install iOS 13.5.1. You can also set your iPhone to download and install new updates automatically. If you’re have an iOS beta profile installed, however, you’ll need to delete it first before you are able to update to iOS 13.5.1.
