SANFORD, N.C. (AP) – Authorities have charged two North Carolina teenagers after a man was shot in the back of the head when he went to an apartment complex to sell an iPhone.
Sanford police tell news outlets the man went to the apartment complex on Sunday. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the seller. The unidentified victim was treated for a graze wound at a local hospital and released.
Officers caught the suspects when they stopped a vehicle on Monday. A firearm was found in the suspects’ vehicle.
Police filed multiple charges against 19-year-olds Seth Jarret Salas and Christian Gomez, including assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Salas is jailed without bond and Gomez is being held on a $250,000 bond.
